'a daily record of news and events of a personal nature; a diary.
What does it mean, 'To Journal'?
'to keep a personal journal; to enter or record daily thoughts, experiences, etc.'
Why Should You Journal?
'Journaling evokes mindfulness and helps writers to remain present while keeping perspective. It presents an opportunity for emotional catharsis and helps the brain regulate emotions. It provides a great sense of confidence and self-identity.
Don’t get hung up on whether or not it’s good enough. Everyone starts everything poorly, don’t they? Just make a start and improve as you go. It will be a bit like your horsemanship journey. One day you’ll look back and realise how far you’ve come.
Start with just a sentence a day and then increase to two. It doesn’t have to be war and peace, just write a few lines.
What to Journal
Apparently, to get the full emotional benefit of journaling you should explore your thoughts and feelings, dig deep and tell the story.
Or not. I’m not much into rules.
Here’s my suggestions:
Make quick notes of the highlights of your day
Make lists, maybe a gratitude list
Use it for doodling, I love a good doodle
If you're artistic use it for drawing or sketching. Even if you’re not artistic just have a go
Or simply just use this journal as a notebook:
Use it at clinics to take notes
Use it to record your horses progress
Use it to record the dates of their vaccinations, dental work and hoof trimming
Rules of Journaling
Rules? There are none, surely!
It’s your journal, your story, and your life.
Write what you want, pour out your heart, or not. Don’t worry about whether your children (or anyone else) will find it when you’re dead and gone. You’ll be dead and gone anyway so what does it matter.
If your kids are anything like mine, they’re probably nosy parkers and will love reading it. Leave them the gift. Write your story and let it go.
Which Journal Should You Use?
This one. It's beautiful. So beautiful it should be enjoyed and treasured. It's handmade from genuine leather and filled with recycled cotton paper.
It already has a distressed finished and will continue to age and become more beautiful. Like us, and our story.

I’m 5’5” 140ish lbs
Ordered size 12 they fit very well
Even in my thighs and knees where I have problems finding a comfortable unsausage casing fit !!
The jeans are at the tailors being shortened to fit my 30” inseam
Have not been in the saddle with them on yet excited to try them out !!!
These riding pants fit like a glove but are super comfy to ride in for hours on the trails. Well made and strong but flexible material. As the title says they are "Perfect!" Made for lady riders. I'm very pleased!
Just love these pants. They are very comfortable to ride in. They have the stretch in them that they won’t constrict your movement. Plus no inseam to rub your legs raw. Love them so much I purchased a second pair.
These are now my favourite pair of riding pants. Super comfy to ride and walk around in. The material is strong but flexible. The tummy support is truly awesome but has enough flexibility to be comfy when riding. Perfect! I’ll buy them again. Thanks Ride Proud ❤️
Exceeded my expectations! Initially I ordered the Horizon and was so surprised with how fast they arrived but unfortunately I ordered the wrong size so when I went to re order my correct size it was sold out. I didn't want to wait as I had a camping trip coming up so I ordered the Trail in navy. Again they arrived within a week which is shocking as I live in Canada. The fit is perfect for me as the Trail is shorter in the rise then the Horizon. The material seems more dense and not as stretchy and the bootcut is not as wide and flared at the bottom. I love how the full seat is very generous as well. For me the length of leg is perfect while in the saddle. Overall I can't fault these pants or the customer service. I ride numerous horses in the day and it's a relief that I am not having to take my tall boots or half chaps on and off as I do regular with my breeches. For a reference in sizing I am 5'6" and weigh 142lbs and I am wearing the size 10 Aus. I ride dressage and have a jumping background and for more fun I like to take my horses camping. I will be buying another pair in brown! Thanks Colleen and Ride Proud.
